Our Partnership

Partnership is at the core of what we do and who we are as a Foundation. We are driven by our vision; to build a powerful workforce of skilled scientists and industry leaders in Africa who can contribute to the Africa’s sustainable development. We view partnership as synergy – the whole being more than the sum of its parts. More reach, more impact, more innovation.

We work in partnership with world recognized Universities and Research Institutes around the world to offer quality scientific laboratory training, especially in the area of molecular biotechnology and applications in agriculture, biomedicine and the environment.

In 2014, we partnered with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, Nigeria to hold intensive hands-on biotechnology laboratory training workshop for students and research professionals across six countries in the sub-Saharan Africa region. This program was supported by the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), Ministry of Science and Technology, Nigeria.

In 2017 and 2018, we collaborated with the Department of Plant Sciences, University of Cambridge to co-organised a world-class hands-on Plant Molecular Biology Laboratory Training Workshop for 33 outstanding agricultural researchers from 10 African countries in Cambridge. The inaugural African Diaspora Biotech Summit took place alongside the workshop at the Sainsbury Laboratory, University of Cambridge.

In 2019, we partnered with the University of Cambridge and the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin Republic to host a high-quality hands-on Plant Molecular Biology Laboratory Training Workshop for 100 excellent early-career agricultural researchers from 19 African nations in Benin Republic.

In 2021, We co-organised international workshops with the Centre for Dryland Agriculture, Bayero University, Kano (Nigeria), CSIR-Crops Research Institute, Kumasi (Ghana), and the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), Kakamega (Kenya). These high-quality workshops took place at the African institutions in collaboration with the Department of Plant Sciences (Plant Virology Group led by Prof. John P. Carr), University of Cambridge and generously funded by the Global Challenges Research Funds (GCRF).
